Robo Blazes Trail for Hostel

After all the attention, and in some circles heated arguments, about the proposed Robo-Cop Statue lessons are being learned. The statue honoring the fictional sci-fi character will be built with money generated from a cyber fund raising site: kickstarter. The $50 grand needed was generated within a week. Now another group or organization (if you can call the robo-supporters an organization, I mean when's the last time you've heard of a Robo support club meeting?) is following their lead.

Hostel Detroit is using the same site as the "robo's." They are also experiencing great results. Here's a post from their Facebook account on Thursday.

"YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! WE ARE HALF WAY THERE IN LESS THAN 36 HOURS!! KEEP SPREADING THE WORD!!!"

Hostel Detroit plans to open this April. It's located a block west of Rosa Parks, just past I-75. It's the first Hostel in 10 years for Detroit. If they meet their goal maybe they'll make a statue of people making a robocop statue. One can only hope.
